I’ll hang a lantern in the squash house
Just in case you happen by,
And hanker for zucchini bread
Or pumpkin pie.
After a good nor’easter, a flurry of metal gazebos missing their covers come up for sale, or free, on Facebook. I use a fairly large, decorative skeleton frame to trellis my squash, thinking that if I grow sixteen-foot tomato plants, I’ll likely grow hundred-pound squash. One benefit is that I easily see the undersides of all the leaves to check for bad bugs. Another is the flowers glowing in the morning sun.
