After a year with these characters in the not-so-sleepy town of Moorewicks Bay, I find my Christmas shopping somewhat confusing. The ensemble cast of The Admiral Inn Mysteries numbers 72 after 6 books, but I won’t invite all of them (Pandora).

In all fairness, that’s the townsfolks and guests of the inn, so admittedly minor characters in most instances, but I can’t write them until I can see them, hear how they speak, and know their motivation so even a one-line walk-on is real to me.

I’m halfway through the arc of the story and can’t quit now (there’s too much to remember), but I am stepping back for the holidays to recover my hands, dull my characters’ voices and focus on real humans. I know my readers have waited an extra week for this new book to drop but I needed to organize the files and update the uploads to Amazon before I pushed back from my desk until January.
