Just for fun! The Admiral Inn Mystery Series

To keep a twelve-book series straight, each book has a recording of plot points and character appearances. At a glance, I can see the different moods of the books and chart the interactions, terminations, and loose ends. Each ‘score’ plays its part in the larger arc of the series.

This fifth book (top image) I nicknamed ‘the honeymoon’ because all seems to be going along swimmingly after much thrashing in the first four books – but cracks are forming. Juxtaposed with the record of the first book (bottom image), the characters are introduced across the story, culminating in a full curtain call.

Each ‘movement’ takes on its own mysteries, solves some, kicks some down the road. While the outline of scenes is prepared before writing, these records evolve as I write. As an entire 12-movement opera, it tells the story of one, spectacular year in June Faust’s life. Plus, it’s purty.
